1. New Chords D7, G, Dm
2. Songs Snowbird, Folsom Prison
Here's a little review video outlining the new chords that we covered and the two new songs we did.
One way to work on the new songs:
1. Listen and see if you can identify by sound the moment that that chords change.
2. Listen again and clap when you hear the chords change. This will help you to develop a "felt sense" for where the chords change.
3. Once you've identified where the chords change, clarify which chords are used either by sound, or by looking at the music (by sound is best)
4. Play the chords ONCE EACH along with the recording. DON'T try and strum this will be added later.
5. To work on the strumming feel, ghost strum along with the recording in the air or on a piece of paper or strum your uke while muting your strings so it doesn't matter what chord you are playing.
(Note: Muting means putting your left hand fingers lightly on the strings so that they don't ring and only make a thukka thukka sound)
6. Once you've worked on all these steps you can try and put the strumming and chords together. If things fall apart at this point GO BACK AND WORK ON STEPS 1 TO 5!
Have Fun!
