Here are the six chords that we have learned so far:
The numbers along the bottom of the diagram suggest what finger you should use to play the note on that string. On the C chord the 3 tells you to use your ring finger to play the note on the third fret of the A string. Index finger is 1, middle is 2, ring is 3, pinky is 4. Here are the recordings of the songs we looked at:
Jamaican Farewell:

The chord progression for Jamaican Farewell went C, F, G7, C
Leaving on a Jetplane:

This song is in the blue Uke Circle book.
There were some new chords in it. Here they are!
Steps for working with recordings:
1. Listen to the chord movement.
2. Listen as you track the movement of the chords. You can use your hand in the air like we do in class.
3. Choose one of the chords and only play it's root when it comes around in the progression.
For example: Just play the G note when the G7 chord comes around:
C (just listening) F (just listening) G7 (play G note) C (just listening)
4. Try the above "wait listen and play" approach for each of the chords involved.
5. Listen for a few cycles of C, F, G7, C, then try to play the roots along with one complete cycle of chords (C note, F note, G note, C note) then go back to listening. Try to put 2 cycles in a row then 3 etc.
6. Repeat these steps with chords instead of roots!
