Class 7 May 25, 2011 Latin Time and Amazing Grace

NOTE: We will be doing a chord review next lesson. Here are the chords that we have learned so far: C, F, G7, D, G, A7, D7, C7, Gm and Am

I think that's all of them. If I've missed one please let me know. Please review how to play them.

It's not going to be a test. Just a whiteboard game to review.

Here's what we did last class:

1. Amazing Grace:
Here are the chords for Amazing Grace in three different keys: C, G and D. Practice playing the song in all three keys and if you are feeling ambitious, try to figure out how to play it in another key of your choice.
Just a little review: In the key of C the I chord is the C, the IV chord is F and the V chord is G7. In the key of G these chords are I=G IV=C and V=D7. In the key of D the chords are D, G, and A7
2. Latin Time

Here are the two parts for Latin Time. Part 1 mean UKULELE 1 and part 2 means UKULELE 2. Learn em!

Jamaica Farewell
by Erving Burgess

Down the way where the nights are gay
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top
I took a trip on a sailing ship
And when I reached Jamaica I made a stop

CHORUS:
But I'm sad to say, I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town

Sounds of laughter everywhere
And the dancing girls swaying to and fro
I must declare that my heart is there
Though I've been from Maine to Mexico

CHORUS

Down at the market you can hear
Ladies cry out while on their head they bear
Ackie rice and salt fish is nice
And the rum is good any time of year

CHORUS
